New Release/Review: Wait For Me by Eleanor Green

Wait For Me by Eleanor Green

Cooper Sterling has been in love with Briley Sheffield since fifth grade, when he asked her to marry him on wide-ruled paper crafted into the fold-and-tuck square.

But life isn’t that neat and tidy.

Years later, defending Briley from an attack lands Cooper in prison, powerless to protect her and unable to convince her to wait for him.

When a failed engagement opens up the possibility of a relationship with Cooper, a mysterious envelope threatens to slam shut every door in Briley’s path. Now she must choose . . . risk the stability of friendship she has with Cooper, or put everything on hold and solve the mysteries of her family secrets.

WAIT FOR ME is is a steamy full-length, contemporary romance. This is book one in the LoveStruck Series and can be read as a standalone.

Review

I freaking loved this book and I love Eleanor's writing as always.  This is a beautifully done friends to lovers romance ripe with angst.

We start off the book with Briley finally having had enough of her fiance Blake's shit and is ready to toss him out on his ass.  Briley is strong but weak at the same time.  This experience brings her down and it really screws with her self esteem and confidence.  Blake's got some serious creeper issues.  I was on the edge of my sit for a long time wondering if Blake was going to do something terrible to Briley.
Briley just wants to run straight to her best friend Cooper's arms for comfort but can't because he's in jail for doing something, that was in my opinion, foolish.  What is it with hot headed men these days and the mentality of act first and think about consequences later?  That seems to be Cooper's motto for most of the book actually.  He spent his time in the slammer thinking of Briley and not in the we're friends sort of way.  He's loved her for a while and he can't get past her friend wall that she's built around herself.  But he tries and the results are simply frustrating and discouraging.  Will Briley ever truly let Coop in?  Can Coop stay out of jail long enough to even succeed?

Wait For Me is book 1 in a 2 book series but it can be read as a standalone.  There is no massive cliff hanger at the end (which I'm thankful for).  Just a few unanswered questions to be taken care of in book 2.  I highly recommend you pick this up and read it.  If you haven't read anything by Eleanor before then you will quickly become a fan!
